Childrens Ministry
United Methodist Kids
United Methodist Kids (UMK) is our Wednesday afternoon program. Our church bus and vans pick the kids up at the elementary schools and bring them to the church from 3pm-5. Ages 3 years through 6th grade are invited to attend. The program includes a snack, craft, lesson, music, and recreation. It’s a small Vacation Bible School each Wednesday.
Mission Maniacs
Mission Maniacs is a part of the UMK program. It is for 4th grade- 6th graders. Mission Maniacs gives kids an opportunity to “do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God,” (Micah 6:8) through projects and lessons that teach them about outreach ministry.
Vacation Bible School
Each year our church has a week-long Vacation Bible School in June for children ages 2 through finishing 5th grade. Our program is a free program open to the entire community. We meet from 9am-12noon each day. Transportation, if needed is available. Check out our current events page for information about this year’s VBS.
Sunday School
We have Sunday School Classes for all ages. Sunday School meets from 9:00-9:50 every Sunday morning.
God’s Little Seeds-A Sunday School class for ages 2-5 years old. It is held in the West Wing . Kids have an interactive Sunday School lesson using pictures, songs, and crafts.
Kindergarten-1st grade-This class meets in the downstairs of the Sturgis Building. This class uses a combination of storytelling, acting, and reading the Bible story together.
2nd and 3rd grade-This class meets on the first floor of the Sturgis building. They learn the bible lesson through crafts, reading the bible story, acting it out, music, and worship.
4th and 5th grade-They meet on the second floor of the Sturgis building. They use hands-on games, activities, crafts, and worship as well as reading the bible and music.
Children’s Choir
Children’s Choirs meet during UMK. They sing in church once a month during the school year, and put on two musicals each year, one at Christmas, and one in the Spring.
