Flood Relief

We know we have a generous and loving community. We’re sure many of you are looking for a way to contribute to Hurricane Harvey relief, and we’ve got a great local opportunity for you to do just that.
Students from Henderson State University and Ouachita Baptist University will come together at First United Methodist Church to pack flood buckets and health kits. We will also be hosting a Pack Shack Party to put together 10,000 meals. We will be providing a free dinner for the college students at 5:30 followed by packing activities. We will be assembling kits for The United Methodist Committee on Relief and Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.
This is a cooperative project between First Methodist and First Presbyterian. We will watch a couple of short videos to learn about the relief work of the two churches. We will also construct a disaster relief donation information board. Donations are being supplied by the members of First Methodist and First Presbyterian and by Atwoods, Brookshires, Hardman Lumber, and Walmart. Come join us for the fun and to help out two worthy causes!
