God’s will is not just for us to be born again but for us to grow into spiritual adults. His intent for the Christian life is for it to be a process of growth in Christlikeness. With that in mind, believers must clearly understand how we can intentionally cooperate with the Holy Spirit’s work to grow us into the likeness of Jesus.

Acknowledging and utilizing the ways God uses different stages and seasons in our lives to shape us, the Unleashed study helps participants understand the lifelong process of spiritual growth and maximize God’s work to conform them to the image of Christ.

Sunday School

We have many adult Sunday School classes that meet each Sunday at 10:00.  This wide variety of classes helps us meet a variety of needs for different age groups.

UMW is the largest denominational faith organization for women with approximately 800,000 members whose mission is fostering spiritual growth, developing leaders and advocating for justice. Women have been empowered by leadership education opportunities, mission education, the Reading Program, tools for advocacy and more. These opportunities allow women to act and to empower women in the United States and abroad. The chapter at FUMC Arkadelphia includes two circles that meet monthly for mission studies, book studies, and special programs, as well as for various ministries and social outings throughout the year. Turning faith, hope, and love into action on behalf of women, children and youth around the world.

The ministry of men in the local church is defined as a core group of men, partnering with their pastor, to invite and initiate spiritual growth opportunities for all men of the church. Everyone has different gifts, graces and areas of interest. Therefore, opportunities for participation would include diverse ministries of the church, such as prayer groups, missions, Bible studies, retreats, workshops/seminars, small groups in the Wesleyan tradition, leading and participating on committees, teaching Sunday school classes, youth ministries, scouting, mentoring and assisting in leading worship service. The focus is not inward, concentrating only on those who attend a set meeting, but outward to all men, assisting them to engage the process of spiritual growth.
